Scholarships and Resources for Wound Care Industry Professionals

Our Scholarships

To enhance accessibility to certification, the ABWM Foundation provides scholarships that cover the initial certification examination fee for exams offered by the American Board of Wound Management (CWCA®, CWS®, CWSP®). Our scholarship offerings include the ABWM Foundation Scholarship and the Harold L. Johnson Memorial Scholarship. Details regarding eligibility criteria and submission periods are outlined below.

Annually, we offer up to 10 certification exam scholarships, and the ABWM Foundation Board of Trustees conducts thorough reviews of applications during their board meetings.

REVIEW/SUBMISSION PERIODS

  • To be Reviewed on February 7, 2024: Submit by  January 31, 2024
  • To be Reviewed on May 29, 2024: Submit by  May 17, 2024
  • To be Reviewed on August 14, 2024: Submit by  August 1, 2024

ELIGIBILITY

  • Scholarships are open to candidates meeting the eligibility criteria for certification set forth by the American Board of Wound Management.
  • Scholarships are only available to first-time candidates.  Scholarships will not be available for re-testing, re-scheduling, or re-certifying candidates.
  • A copy of the candidate’s most recent tax return will be required with application.

Harold L. Johnson Memorial Scholarship

Candidates for this scholarship must demonstrate the highest character and the desire to serve others through a history of volunteerism. Preference will be given to those who have served honorably in the Armed Forces. Learn more here
