Helpful Resources for Wound Care Industry Professionals
ABWM Foundation has developed educational videos for individuals studying for upcoming exams or fulfilling requirements for ABWM annual certification renewal. Each module runs about 45 minutes. Each module counts for 1 hour of continuing education credit for the ABWM annual renewal. This credit is approved for the ABWM annual renewal and is not pre-approved for any other continuing education credit requirements.

Requirements for successful completion of this continuing education activity include:
The lecture covers the principles of NPWT, including macro- and microeffects on the wound, the history of NPWT, powered versus non-powered negative pressure, incisional devices, evidence for NPWT use, indications / contraindications, complications of NPWT, application principles, and case reports of NPWT use.

As part of the Wound Healing Awareness Month (WHAM) campaign, ABWM Foundation is offering a FREE Zoom Lecture on “insensate foot”. The participants can earn 1-hour CEU credit for their ABWM renewals.
Lecturers are:

• Dr. Desmond Bell, DPM, CWS®, “Save a Leg, Save a Life” Foundation Founder and President
Participants will:
• comprehend the relationship of structural and biomechanical factors that lead to diabetic foot ulcer formation
• recognize various surgical intervention strategies utilized to address diabetic foot ulcers and their recurrence
This educational module is designed for all wound care practitioners and provides an overview of the presently accepted cause of venous ulceration, with a brief historical overview of past theories. The principles of proper venous ulcer management are then discussed including the role of compression in healing and lifetime maintenance of the condition.
At the end of this presentation the learner will be able to:
-Describe the function of wound dressings by category
-Identify the impact of additives and specialty design in wound dressings
-Discuss the key components to successful wound management
